Indigo Park Wiki

The Entrance, as the name implies, is the main point of entry to Indigo Park of the eponymous game. It is the area that the player starts in when the game begins.

Overview[]

The entrance is an area consisting of three main sections: the exterior where guests line up for admittance, the staff rooms where Ranglers process registrations, and the inner courtyards that lead into the park proper.

Exterior[]

The entrance exterior is the area the player first appears in when gameplay for Chapter 1 begins. It consists of a walkway decorated with small street lamps ending at the main gate into the park, with gardens flanking the path on either side. The entire area is surrounded by a chain link fence, covered in police tape, outside of which are orange barricades blocking the fence from the parking lot beyond it. Packing crates marked with the Indigo name can be found stacked within the exterior entrance area, near the fence.

Above the main gate is a weathered park logo, a closeup of which doubles as the title screen for the game itself at the end of the chapter's opening cutscene. To the right of the main gate is a row of fencing meant to direct the flow of guests lining up to enter, shallow enough that the player can jump over it. The staff entrance used by the Ranglers is just past the waiting area; as the main gate is sealed shut, the player must go here to progress.

Staff Rooms[]

The staff rooms consist mainly of the registration center and a backup generator room containing the entrance sector's Indigo Violet Compact Power Generator. This area is heavily damaged at the time of the game, though the corner with the registration desk remains mainly intact with the computer still operational. Rambley the Raccoon first reactivates here upon detecting the player's presence and welcomes them to the park before using the functioning computer to register them as a guest. The door to the generator room is initially closed, opening after Rambley fails to open the main gate due to insufficient power. The generator's missing gear, required to repair it and restore power, is hanging from a hole in the ceiling of the registration center and falls down to be collected only after Rambley asks the player to find it. After the generator is repaired and activated, Rambley will be able to unlock the main gate to let the player into the park.

Inner Courtyards[]

The main gate opens into a walkway surrounded by walls covered in large character murals. The walkway opens into an outdoor area with benches and a large hollow globe in the middle. In the wall ahead is an information center with turn gates on either end. Only one turn gate is functional, but the player cannot pass through it without a Critter Cuff. Rambley directs the player to Critter Corner, the gift shop located to the left when entering the area from the main gate, to acquire one. Beside the entrance to Critter Corner is a large display window showcasing plushies for sale within. Compared to other areas of the park, this area is one of the most well kept areas with pretty much the only signs of damage being the overgrown floor filled with the surrounding forest plants.

Past the turn gates is a more spacious courtyard, decorated in the center by a large bronze statue of Isaac Indigo holding Rambley's hand, the Isaac statue giving the illusion of watching the player wherever they go. Aside from benches, the courtyard contains a few purple concession stands, marked as Indigo Park Concessions, offering various food and drink, including pretzel dogs and ice cream. The wall on the rear end of the courtyard bears the Indigo Park logo painted in the center, with wide tunnels on either end that lead to the Park Square.

One tunnel is already caved in when the player arrives, while the other is open until after the player steps in and is blocked inside by falling debris. The tunnel that the player enters contains men's and women's restrooms, posters for various park attractions, and a side tunnel ending at the entrance to Rambley's Railroad. With the tunnel's main entry points blocked off by this point, the player exits the tunnel, and the entrance area as a whole, through Rambley's Railroad.

Collectables[]

Five of the first chapter's collectables can be found in the entrance area.

Trivia[]

  • There's graffiti text painted above the Mollie Macaw mural left of the main gate that, when decoded, will reveal the code "YEILM", which can be used on the terminal.
