Garten of Banban: Reincarnated[]

Garten of Banban: Reincarnated is a fan-made first-person survival horror video game developed and published by UniqueGeese. Released on March 29, 2023, the game is an unofficial reimagining of the original Garten of Banban series developed by the Euphoric Brothers. The game is available as a free download for Microsoft Windows via the indie platform Itch.io. and Gamejolt

Unlike the original, Reincarnated was developed independently in under a week, with the goal of enhancing the horror atmosphere and immersive elements through more detailed visuals and environmental storytelling. Despite being an unofficial project, it has gained significant popularity in the indie horror gaming community.

Gameplay[]

Garten of Banban: Reincarnated is a first-person exploration horror game set within a mysterious and abandoned kindergarten. Players assume the role of an unnamed protagonist who enters the facility in search of missing children. As they navigate through dark hallways, derelict classrooms, and unsettling environments, players must solve puzzles, avoid danger, and uncover the eerie history behind the location.

The core gameplay revolves around:

  • Exploration of the kindergarten’s many rooms and corridors
  • Puzzle-solving, including tasks like key finding and code deciphering
  • Stealth and evasion, as the protagonist encounters hostile entities inspired by the mascots from the original Garten of Banban
  • Atmospheric horror, driven by dynamic lighting, sound design, and environmental storytelling rather than jump scares

Unlike its source material, Reincarnated focuses more heavily on creating a traditional horror game experience with tension-building and minimal hand-holding.

Development[]

The game was created by UniqueGeese, a solo developer and content creator, known for their work in the indie horror community. Reincarnated was designed and released in just one week, serving both as a personal development challenge and a creative reinterpretation of the Garten of Banban concept.

The developer clarified that the game was made purely for practice and entertainment purposes, with no commercial intent. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the original developers, the Euphoric Brothers. Following a request from the original creators, UniqueGeese removed the official Garten of Banban name and logo from the game's promotional material, though the game remains publicly available under the "Reincarnated" title.

also thanks to the success of reincarnated, indigo park could be created... and without this game we wouldn't even be here

Trivia[]

  • Originally, fans believed that Indigo Park would be a sequel to Reincarnated.

    • In Reincarnated and in Indigo Park, part of the game takes place in pipes (like in kids pipes (pipes for kids to play).
